The bell tower of the church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Allineuc (22)
Today we would like to tell you how our K08 slate plays a part in history, this time in Allineuc in Brittany. Before we continue, we would like to thank Jean-Charles from Le Ray Couverture and ETS Leguern Matériaux for their kindness and trust over the years.
Brief history: Allineuc is a town in the Côtes d’Armor, 27 km south of Saint-Brieuc. And in the middle of the little town is a church dating from the 18th century, with its bell tower built on the right of an earlier building first mentioned in the 14th century.

The town hall of Allineuc: “Following the appearance of disorders caused by the movement of the bells and by successive modifications of the surroundings over the centuries, (…) decided to carry out restoration work in order to safeguard this ancient tower,” 35 metres high.
The work began in December 2021 with Frédérique Le Bec – ARCHAEB as project manager.
A meticulous job that requires know-how and patience.
We were able to see the progress of the slate installation on site. We will come back once the work is finished and the scaffolding removed.
We would like to point out that since the closure of the Trélazé slate quarries, the last ones to be kept in operation in France, the K08 team has gradually specialised in Historic Monument slate and has now achieved a share of the market with the Restoration and Renaissance brands: guaranteed quality.
Thus, K08 natural slate contributes to the conservation of French heritage.
