In Noailles, a small town in the Corrèze department, central France, there is a castle whose history is linked to one of the largest families in the French aristocracy. This historical monument is called Domaine de la Fage, and it is located on a hill in the middle of a mountainous landscape.
A year ago, her main living room suffered a huge fire whose origin is unknown and in which, fortunately, there were no victims to regret. The ceiling of the hall was totally destroyed.
Some time later, its reconstruction began, in which our K08 slate was the protagonist.
Up to 45 different slate models have been developed to achieve a finish that adapts to the detail of this construction.
It is a “Brouillée” style installation work with lengths of 50, 46, 43, 40, 37, 34, 32, 30, 27 cm and five widths of different measurements for each of the lengths. All the pieces were made in 1 cm thickness, which doubles the weight of a standard roof, a situation that requires the construction of a wooden frame that supports the entire roof. An engineering work.
Surprised with the impeccable work they have done, we are very proud to have contributed to the happy ending of this story, thanks to the work of our distributor Club Ardoise and its client Entreprise Duplouy. We all wish that this architectural and historical wonder will immediately return to the normality it deserves.
